About Dylan Lee Baxter

I want to make films that feel real — stories that sit with you and reveal something honest over time. I’m drawn to character-driven work that explores betrayal, identity, and survival, and to the psychological spaces where people are forced to confront who they are when belief and loyalty are tested.

With a background in film and psychology, my work is shaped by a deep interest in human behavior and moral tension. I care less about spectacle and resolution, and more about aftermath — the quiet fractures that appear after a choice is made. My approach favors restrained storytelling, grounded performances, and bold, intentional visuals that trust the audience.

My latest short film, Bound By Lies, follows two lovers on the run after a robbery gone wrong, tracing the fragile line between devotion and self-preservation. Developed as my senior thesis at the University of Colorado Boulder, the film reflects my ongoing creative evolution. I’m currently developing my first feature and continuing to build work that grows with me — evolving, questioning, and never finished.
